Privacy levels

We offer many different privacy configurations. You're free to choose whichever one suits you the best:

  • A - Everyone can see and edit but account creation is limited to users.
  • B - Everyone can see and create accounts but editing is limited to users.
  • C - Everyone can see but editing and creating accounts are limited to users.
  • D - Nobody can see or edit but they may create an account to see or edit.
  • E - Nobody can see, edit, or create an account except existing users.
  • F - Combine with level A or C or E. Same as A or C or E, except creating an account uses the extension ConfirmAccount. (https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:ConfirmAccount)

We recommend level E for companies wanting to use their wikis for internal knowledgebases. The most popular combination for ConfirmAccount is with privacy level C (Private F + C).
