Do you already have a MediaWiki wiki, or do you want to import some pages from a previous wiki? If so, we can import your content from your MySQL/SQLite database or a MediaWiki XML dump.
Don't have a MediaWiki wiki, but something else? We support migration from most wiki software, including:
- MediaWiki
- Wikispaces
- Apple Wiki Server
- DokuWiki
- TikiWiki
- TWiki
- Vimwiki
- Jira
Imports are always free. As long as you have a subscription to MyWikis, we'll be happy to import your wiki for you.
If your wiki dump contains over 1 GB of files, please let us know. Wikis with large amounts of files are best suited for our MyWikis VPS plan.
Due to the varying level of complexity of each and every previous MediaWiki import, we are not able to guarantee the success of your import into MyWikis. In those cases, we will inform you of the failure of your import and offer a refund.
If you need further assistance with migrating from another wiki host, we'd be more than happy to answer your questions. Please open a support ticket and we'll be happy to help you.
Importing a MediaWiki wiki
To get started, please purchase a plan and open a support ticket. (After purchasing a plan, a wiki will be created for you—DO NOT use this wiki, as it will be deleted once we import your wiki.) Then, please upload the following files to a cloud provider such as Dropbox (recommended), Google Drive, or OneDrive:
- LocalSettings.php
- extensions directory
- images directory
- composer.json and composer.local.json file (only if they exist)
- SQL dump of your wiki's database
If you do not have a SQL dump or LocalSettings.php, an XML dump of your wiki will suffice as well.
Then, send us the link to your export dump.
Importing a non-MediaWiki wiki
Please open a support ticket and let us know what kind of wiki software you have. We will let you know how to proceed based on your unique situation.
